to spend a lot of money, the HP
CM1415 may be just what they are seeking. Naturally, you
can print, scan, copy and fax. Hewlett-Packard has made it even better,
however, by providing wireless or wired networking capabilities. Not only
that, but also virtually any device connected to the Internet can be used
to send a print job directly to the machine.
This is not the fastest printer than Hewlett-Packard makes. The unit
produces up to eight pages per minute in color mode and 12 ppm in black
and white mode. Fax speed is also a bit low, and is rated at 33.6 kilobytes
per second.
Print resolution maxes out at 600 by 600 dpi, adequate for almost
all applications. Fax resolution is a maximum of 203 by 196 dpi, which
may be a bit low for those who need to receive detailed images or documents
with fine print. For most, however, the results are sufficiently sharp
and clear. In addition, as many as 250 incoming pages can be held in the
fax memory.
The scanner resolution is rated at 1,200 dpi.
The machine features a flatbed scanner as well as the ability to load
documents to be scanned in the automatic document feeder. The maximum
size that can be scanned depends on the document source. The flatbed scanner
can handle up to 8.5 by 11.7 inch originals, while the automatic feeder
is limited to legal size originals.
Copy speed is 12 copies per minute. Users can order as many as 99 copies
of a single document at one time. Scaling ranges from 25 to 400 percent.
The HP CM1415
comes with a 150-page input tray, and the automatic feeder can hold 35
sheets. Hewlett-Packard rates the machine at a recommended volume of 300
to 1,500 pages per month. The unit is "Energy Star" qualified,
