Design

As laser printers go, this is really small, but that is because it's not multifunctional. Its dimensions of 15.7” x 17.8” x 10.0” with a weight of 40 pounds, it's quite heavy for its size. But it’s alright to keep it on the shelf or on your pc table. You can’t put it too far from your work area, because it does not have wireless capability, although it can be connected to a network through an Ethernet cable.

The design on this printer is special, because it has an odd shape much like a toaster oven. Also, the navigation panel is tiny. The two-line LCD screen is simply useful for easier access when the printer is used without a PC, since the system has several memory card slots. The printer has a plain gray body with a light gray top panel and front face.

Printing & Features

A laser printer is one kind of a machine, and a color laser printer is another. Within this design, I have found a very good printer that produces excellent color out-put with the richest, most vibrant, and most detailed images. The printer produces black and colored printouts with a image resolution of 600×600, and the print speed for black docs is 12 PPM while for color docs are at 8 pages per a minute.

While it doesn't have an auto duplexing print feature included, the manual driver assistance is supplied and you can install it to be able to do automated duplex printing. The only difficulty with this printer is that it utilizes a lot of toner which requires the cartridge to be changed often. This is very inconvenient if you’re a busy person, and costly as well. Nevertheless, the good quality on this printer could make up for most of its flaws. As a generalization, I will state that I am happy with the HP CP1518 toner Printer. It also delivers things I need and features great print quality. So, if you’re searching for a dedicated color laser printer with excellent quality, I highly recommend this machine. It is network-ready, and has a standard USB interface. It has a large footprint, but sits quite low on the desk for a color laser.
